Certified Behavior Technician – 35 week full-time contract assignment in Lacey, WA. Role at Senior Helpers.

Base pay range: $38.00/hr

This job summary describes the role of a School Paraprofessional/Assistant who provides assistance to teachers and school personnel to support students across various classroom settings. Duties vary by student needs, including physical assistance, behavior management, and academic support. The School Paraprofessional/Assistant works under the supervision of the teacher and/or school principal.

• Complies with ATC policies/procedures.
• Complies with school facility policies/procedures.
• Assists with instructional and non-instructional duties as directed by the teacher.
• Prepare students for instructional start times and assist with transportation in the morning and after school.
• Escort students to classes, lunchroom, and activities as needed.
• Eat lunch with students when directed.
• Provide individual or group support to students with disabilities in general and/or special education classrooms.
• Assist in planning and adapting activities and classroom work.
• Support students in understanding directions and completing work; reinforce teacher instructions.
• Assist with preparation of instructional materials and with classroom clerical tasks.
• Operate audio-visual equipment and accompany the teacher and class on field trips as required.
• Maintain confidentiality of student records.
• Provide physical assistance to students with physical challenges as needed.

• Experience:
  
  At least six months of experience as a School Certified Behavior Technician in the school setting within the last 2 years.
• Licensure/
  
  Certifications:
  
  CPR as required by school; health and screening tests as required by school facilities and/or regulatory agencies.
• Environment:
  Various school facility settings; possible exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and other potentially infectious materials.
