Washington Connections Academy (WACA) is a tuition‑free, virtual public school serving K‑12 statewide under a partnership model with local districts and Connections Academy. WACA is accredited by Cognia and was recognized as a Cognia School of Distinction in 2022.

Job Summary – The Multilingual Teacher supports the academic and language development of English learners (ELs) through targeted instruction and collaboration with general education staff. This role ensures students acquire English proficiency while accessing core content and meeting state standards.

• Provide direct English language development (ELD) instruction aligned with students' language proficiency levels.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to support ELs in accessing grade‑level curriculum.
• Monitor and document language development progress.
• Communicate regularly with families using appropriate language supports.
• Participate in EL identification, placement, and reclassification processes.

• Valid Washington teaching certificate with an ESL, ELL, or bilingual endorsement (as required by state).
• ML/ELL/Bilingual Education endorsement.
• Residence in Washington preferred.
• Experience working with linguistically and culturally diverse students preferred.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.
• Team‑player track record, highly flexible, and with a demonstrated ability to work well in a fast‑paced environment.
• Demonstrated strong technology skills (Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Zoom, Nearpod, data collection tools, spreadsheets and databases).
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to communicate effectively with staff, students, and families from a wide range of cultural, ethnic, and linguistic backgrounds.
• Excellent attention to detail, proven time management and organizational skills, especially when working independently.
• Demonstrated ability to work with colleagues to foster an inclusive work and school environment that supports different groups of individuals, including people of different races, ethnicities, religions, abilities, genders, and sexual orientations.
• Student‑ and family‑focused approach, with a demonstrated ability to create an inclusive and culturally responsive classroom environment that supports and recognizes students of diverse backgrounds and identities.
• Ability to travel for one or two weeks at a time for key school events, including overnight travel (back‑to‑school training, state testing, graduation ceremony, marketing events, and field trips).
• Must be able to use a personal electronic device and email address for 2‑step authentication.

Base pay range: $40,000.00–$55,000.00 per year.
