Position

Summary
  • Manage instructional programs for a remote, full‑time Physical Education Teacher role for the 2025‑26 school year. Applicants may reside in Washington, Oregon, or Idaho.
  • Consult with caretakers, Learning Coaches, and students via telephone, internet, and curriculum tools to ensure successful completion of the instructional program.
Responsibilities
  • Homeroom Roles
    • Host a homeroom of students, serving as a role model and mentor.
    • Host weekly homeroom Live Lessons.
    • Support families through key cycle tasks (Welcome Calls, Intent to Return, monthly WSLP Progress Checks).
    • Encourage student engagement in lessons and Live Lessons.
    • Welcome assigned homeroom students and families within the first week.
    • Frequently check in on academics, skill building, and graduation/promotion, especially for off‑track students.
  • Content Roles
    • Supplement asynchronous content with at least one synchronous Live Lesson per course each week, or a combination of Live Lesson and office hours.
    • Deliver asynchronous support videos as needed.
    • Operate within the Multi‑Tiered System of Supports, providing Tier 1 differentiated instruction and collaborating on Tier 2/3 interventions.
    • Grade all assignments within 8 days of submission, giving clear, constructive feedback.
    • Review curriculum and devise alternate approaches to lessons.
    • Develop general knowledge of the 9‑12 curriculum and deep knowledge of assigned course(s).
    • Provide alternate lessons, assessments, and strategies to meet individual learning goals.
    • Consult with instructional staff and learning specialists to develop enrichment and modifications.
  • Contact Roles
    • Communicate regularly with caretakers, students, and staff via computer and telephone.
    • Connect individually with each content‑area student at least once per semester to discuss progress and needs.
    • Log all contacts within 24 hours.
    • Meet weekly student contact requirements set by school, division, and PVS leadership.
  • Community Roles
    • Coordinate and attend social activities and field trips for students/families as required, integrating them into curriculum when possible.
    • Devise and implement virtual methods to create and maintain a school community.
    • Administer state testing, including in‑person proctoring of WIDA/SBAC/WCAS at various locations.
    • Participate in student recruiting and marketing efforts.
  • Behind‑The‑Scenes Roles
    • Collaborate on IEP and 504 teams, sharing progress insights.
    • Engage in professional learning communities, reviewing data to drive instruction and improve practices.
    • Work with Advisory Teachers and Counselors to ensure appropriate communication and progress.
    • Attend in‑person training and team‑building throughout the year and in Washington.
    • Report and refer critical incidents per law, regulations, or ethics.
    • Actively participate in professional development, including SEL and DEI training.
    • Complete duties of assigned or voluntary representative roles (Attendance Rep, Communication Rep, etc.).
    • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Washington teacher certification in Physical Education.
  • Residence in Washington preferred.
  • Team player with high flexibility and proven ability to thrive in fast‑paced environments.
  • Strong technology skills (Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Zoom, Nearpod, data tools).
  • Excellent oral and written communication with diverse cultural/linguistic backgrounds.
  • Excellent attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work with colleagues to foster an inclusive environment for all groups.
  • Student‑ and family‑focused, culturally responsive approach.
  • Willingness to travel for key events, including overnight stays.
  • Must be able to use a personal device and email for 2‑step authentication.
