High School CTE Business Teacher - Washington Connections Academy

Remote, full-time position for the 25-26 school year. Applicants may live in Washington, Oregon, or Idaho.

• Homeroom Roles:
  Host a homeroom of students, act as a role model and mentor; host weekly homeroom Live Lessons; support students and families through key school year cycle tasks; encourage student engagement in lessons and Live Lessons; welcome assigned homeroom students and families within the first week of enrollment; monitor academics and progress, especially if off-track.
• Content Roles:
  Supplement and enhance asynchronous content with at least one synchronous Live Lesson per course each week or equivalent, deliver asynchronous support videos; operate within the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) to provide Tier 1 differentiated instruction and collaborate on Tier 2/3 interventions; grade submissions within 8 days with clear feedback; review curriculum and develop alternate approaches to improve understanding; develop knowledge of the program’s 9-12 curriculum and detailed knowledge of assigned courses;
  
  support with alternate lessons and strategies to meet individual learning goals; consult with instructional staff and learning specialists to modify programs for increased understanding.
• Contact Roles:
  Communicate regularly with caretakers, students, and instructional staff via computer and telephone; connect with each content area student at least once per semester to discuss progress and needs; log all contacts within 24 hours; meet weekly student contact requirements as determined by school leadership.
• Community Roles:
  Coordinate and attend social activities and field trips as allowed; create and maintain a virtual school community; assist with state testing administration (including proctoring) and participate in student recruiting and marketing efforts as needed.
• Behind-The-Scenes Roles:
  Collaborate with IEP/504 teams; work within professional learning communities to use data to drive instruction and improve teaching practices; coordinate with advisory teachers and school counselors to ensure appropriate communications and progress; attend training sessions; report and refer critical incidents as required; participate in professional development, including state-required SEL and DEI training; fulfill duties of assigned representative roles if applicable.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Washington teacher certification in Business & Marketing or other CTE credentials
• Residence in Washington preferred
• Team player with flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong technology skills (Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Zoom, Nearpod, data tools, spreadsheets, and databases)
• Excellent communication skills, with ability to interact effectively with staff, students, and families from diverse backgrounds
• Strong time-management and organizational skills; ability to work independently
• Commitment to inclusive, culturally responsive teaching
• Student- and family-focused approach to education
• Ability to travel for one to two weeks for key school events (including overnight travel)
• Must be able to use a personal device and email for 2-step authentication

Based on Experience and Education, the salary ranges from $40,000-$55,000
