Position:
Pastoral Coordinator for Sacraments and Hispanic Ministries
Reports to:
Father Bryan Ochs
Under the leadership of the pastor, this role serves as the primary contact for Hispanic Ministries across the Parish Family, ensuring unity and consistency across programs. In accordance with Parish and Archdiocese guidelines the candidate will also coordinate, promote, and implement sacramental opportunities and faith formation for parish families that nurture their personal faith and foster a sense of belonging which leads to participation in the life, mission, and work of the Church.
This position serves both Sacred Heart and Saint Columban. Applicants must be practicing Catholics and bilingual.
- Develops, plans, and directs the Hispanic Ministry programs.
- Develop, schedule, promote, implement, and evaluate the celebration of the following Spanish and English speaking Sacramental Preparation programs:
- Quinceañera
- Baptisms
- Marriage Preparation
- Recruit, train, support, and evaluate volunteers for sacramental preparation programs as needed.
- Help plan, coordinate, and work with the Liturgy Coordinator to facilitate the Spanish Mass and bi-lingual liturgies and celebrations.
- Oversee and translate materials both written and oral from English to Spanish as needed and assist Religious Education Programs with translations.
- Attend Archdiocesan meetings and workshops and function as liaison informing Hispanic community
- Develop and implement annual budget and maintain program costs within budget guidelines for Hispanic programs
- Prepares for and teaches classes in specified areas.
- Record retention and certificate preparation for the Hispanic atino community.
- Assures the creation and preparation of the monthly parish bulletin for the Hispanic community.
- Maintains the Parish Database System to ensure the timely completion for all new Hispanic/Latino family registrations, making name/address changes, additions and deletions as needed.
- Assures adequate Pastoral Care to the Spanish Communities in both Lacey and Yelm.
- Leads planning meetings related to faith formation events, objectives, strategies, and goals for the Hispanic ministries at both parishes.
- Maintains a level of knowledge and skills required for this Catholic ministry through regular updating, reading appropriate materials and participation at workshops and conventions. Participates in local, regional, and national professional organizations, as approved and as appropriate.
- Oversees accurate maintenance of program records.
Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications.
