Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) has an exciting opportunity for an experienced engineer in the Olympic Region Traffic Design Office. This position provides leadership, direction, support, management, and engineering oversight to the Traffic Design Office. They also provide subject matter expertise to support project offices and construction offices in the areas of safety, operational efficiency, demand management, traffic analysis, work zone traffic control, signing, intelligent transportation systems, signal, electrical systems, and illumination.
The role reports to the Region Traffic Design Engineer and assists in overseeing Design Bid Build projects that support the Region's established capital program, safety program, and preservation program.
Location: Lacey, WA – Olympic Region
Salary: $7,668 – $9,834 Monthly ***
Job Type: Full-time
Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership, direction, support, management, and engineering oversight for the Traffic Design Office.
- Serve as subject matter expert to support project and construction offices in safety, operational efficiency, demand management, traffic analysis, work zone traffic control, signing, intelligent transportation systems, signal, electrical systems, and illumination.
- Assist in overseeing Design Bid Build projects to support the Region's capital, safety, and preservation programs.
- Coordinate with cross‑functional teams and report to the Region Traffic Design Engineer.
