Assistant Manager – Flynn Panera

Base pay range

$23.00/hr - $27.00/hr

Position Description

Our Panera Bread cafes are upscale, friendly locations that serve baked breads, pastries, made‑to‑order soups, salads, sandwiches, and specialty espresso beverages. As an Assistant Manager, you will support the General Manager in running daily operations, overseeing a team of up to 75 staff and ensuring a high quality customer experience in a grease‑free, alcohol‑free environment. We pride ourselves on no late nights and a focus on morning productivity.

Duties And Responsibilities
  • Manage overall business performance, including ordering, scheduling, labor management, marketing, facilities, bakery operations and catering.
  • Analyze and plan sales levels and profitability.
  • Create and execute plans for sustained profitability.
  • Serve as the primary conduit of information between associates and the management team.
  • Retain and develop team members and managers.
  • Manage budgets and control costs.
  • Coordinate operations during scheduled shifts.
  • Greet customers and conduct table visits to ensure satisfaction.
  • Inspire associates to be authentic while generating high productivity.
  • Coach and mentor associates through One‑On‑One reviews and performance documentation.
  • Anticipate problems and take preventive action.
  • Act as the primary resource for resolving associate questions.
  • Ensure bakery‑cafe associates are properly trained and competent.
  • Recruit and train staff to meet staffing par levels.
  • Operate within all company guidelines and cultural values while following ethical business practices.
  • Exhibit a professional image and embody the company’s values and beliefs.
Education and Experience
  • At least 2–3 years of hospitality management experience.
  • Degree or equivalent experience in hospitality or hotel/restaurant management preferred.
  • Food management certifications a plus.
  • Demonstrated “run it like you own it” mentality.

Physical Standards
