The WMS Software Developer’s primary responsibilities are to troubleshoot, maintain, enhance and extend software applications that manage warehouse operations within the organization. Developers at each level must be capable of gathering user requirements, analyzing warehouse processes and workflows, designing and developing custom solutions in accordance with development standards and internal SOP’s, documenting enhancements and training warehouse personnel. Developers in this role will also provide technical guidance and support to other technical, analytical, systems or warehouse operations teams as well as collaborate with vendor partners that provide external support.
* Occasional travel for site visits and remote site work may be required as well as occasional after-hours support to resolve processing disruptions.
* Lacey, WA onsite/hybrid options available with regular check-ins with the Director of ERP Systems and/or Senior WMS Software Developer.
Compensation: $70K - 85K DOE

Level I WMS Developer
A Level I WMS Developer has foundational skills and understandings of database design, query building, development and administration but has less than 3 years of professional experience with warehouse operations or WMS systems. Responsibilities at this level include maintaining database and WMS configurations, report and query building, and functional enhancements to processes that keep warehouse operations running efficiently. This position will work closely with Level II and Level III developers, analysts, and business users to troubleshoot issues, gather requirements, improve data quality, support reporting needs, document processes and enhancements and assist with integrations across ERP, warehouse, and customer facing systems.
Essential Job Functions
- Design, develop, optimize and deploy SQL solutions, stored procedures, functions, views, SQL Jobs, and data models that support warehouse operations.
- Writing and maintaining queries, views, and stored procedures to support reporting and day-to-day operations.
- Support data validation and cleanup efforts to improve the accuracy of customer, product, logistics and transactional data.
- Analyze root causes of data issues affecting customer orders, inventory availability, shipments, and financial transactions, and implement durable fixes.
- Partner with business stakeholders to translate operational requirements into scalable reporting and data solutions.
- Document database objects, report logic, recurring data processes and custom enhancements.
- Learn and follow best practices for SQL development, database security, and performance optimization.
- Automating warehouse processes to reduce redundancy and improve data quality and operational efficiency.
- Lead database performance tuning initiatives for high-volume transactional systems, including order management, purchasing, inventory, and warehouse execution.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Foundational knowledge of SQL and relational database concepts (on-prem and cloud).
- Understanding of tables, joins, views, indexes, stored procedures and basic query optimization.
- Familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server, SQL Server Mgmt Studio, Visual Studio Code (VSCode), Page Editor, and Advantage Architect.
- Demonstrated strong analytical/problem solving skills and ability to follow procedures and resolution exceptions.
