Maintenance Technician

Job Description:

Objective of the position: Service and Maintain intended equipment design and construction for established manufacturing purposes adhering to strict Food Safety and Quality Assurance requirements.
Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Preventive maintenance of equipment by greasing, oiling including but not limited to checking
chains, belts, conveying , manufacturing systems functions.
o Bearing greasing, oil fluid levels, chain and belt tension and conditions
o Sprockets, pins, gears, shears, and keepers conditions
o Guards, brackets, rollers, welds

• Working knowledge of entire plant including, but not limited to unloading, processing, packaging
of products

• Use power and hand tools to perform repairs and maintenance work

• May drive forklift or use pallet jack

• Fabricating using basic fabrication tools, welder, torches, and materials

• Safely handle and dispense Maintenance chemicals and any cleaning & sanitizing chemicals

• Basic operational maintenance and troubleshoot equipment

• Follow work instructions and SOP's

• Various other duties in multiple departments as directed by supervisor and management.

• Must be available to work day or night shift & subject to flexible hours and scheduling.

• May be required to change shifts to cover for vacations, illnesses, and other coverage
needs as required to meet business and customer needs.
Food Quality:

• Monitor equipment to assure in good working order

• Perform routine preventive maintenance checks

• Report any Quality concerns or issues to FS/QA Manager or other Company official
Food Safety:

• Follow company cGMP program

• Set up and perform the HIP operation

• Follow company policies and sanitation procedures when completing maintenance activity

• Report any Food Safety issues to the FS/QA Manager or other Company official
Occupational Safety:
Follow company safety protocols and procedures
Report any identified safety risks to safety committee member or management
Physical Demands:
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
Position may require lifting, bending, crawling, kneeling, standing for long periods of time, reaching,
frequent walking and climbing ladders, working in hot and/or dusty environment.
