Starting hourly rate is $19.00 per hour. Pay range: $19.00 - $28.50 per hour.

All about General Merchandise:
Experts of store process and efficiency who enable a consistent experience for our guests by ensuring product is set, in-stock, accurately priced, and signed on the sales floor. The GM and Food Sales team leads inbound, outbound, replenishment, and promotional signing processes across GM areas. Team members conduct inventory accuracy, merchandise setup and maintenance, and pricing processes. They support pick, pack and ship fulfillment to guests.

Role of a General Merchandise Expert can provide you with the following:

• Knowledge of guest service fundamentals and experience supporting a guest-first culture across the store
• Experience in retail business fundamentals including department sales trends, inventory replenishment, and process efficiency and improvement
• Experience executing daily/weekly workload to support business priorities and achieve sales goals

• Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests during daily tasks
• Assist guests in solving their specific needs in a helpful, welcoming manner
• Thank guests and acknowledge their choice to shop Target
• Execute daily tasks to meet business priorities, including receiving products, restocking shelves, organizing backroom, merchandise setup, and posting promotional signs for GM areas
• If certified, operate power equipment to move merchandise or store fixtures
• Perform processes such as price changes, merchandise setup and maintenance, and inventory accuracy as directed
• Understand how operational procedures affect inventory management and store profitability
• Know resources, products, and services to solve issues and improve guest experience
• Demonstrate ethical conduct, safety, and compliance
• Work safely; follow safety policies, report hazards, and correct where possible
• Support guest services such as back-up cashier and digital fulfillment processes (picking/packing orders, delivering pickup orders) while complying with relevant laws
• Other duties as needed based on business needs

• Accurately handle cash register operations as needed
• Ability to climb ladders
• Scan, handle, and move merchandise safely; frequently lift up to 44 pounds without assistance
• Flexible schedule (nights, weekends, holidays) with reliable attendance
• Ability to work in varying temperatures and conditions; may involve Drive-Up or carryout duties
• Ability to stay mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift
