• Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service and maintain a safe, clean environment that invites customers to return.
• Greet, engage, and assist customers; process transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at the check lane.
• Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system and handle tenders (Cash, Checks, Credit, Debit, SNAP EBT, Offline SNAP EBT, WIC), rain checks, coupons and loyalty offers according to policy.
• Adhere to company policies on cash shortages/overages and prevent loss.
• Follow guidelines for restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs) and report pricing discrepancies as needed.
• Stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads; adhere to food safety regulations and safety procedures.
• Identify unsafe conditions, report incidents, and participate in safety programs; inspect equipment and report repairs as needed.
• Help create an environment where customers feel welcome, informed, and valued by answering product questions store-wide.
• Follow local, state and federal laws and company guidelines; work cooperatively in a fast-paced environment and manage conflicts professionally.

• Minimum Position Qualifications:
  
  Customer service experience; effective communication skills; basic math (counting, addition, subtraction).
• Preferred:
  Prior experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk; customer service experience.

• Cashier/Checker greets customers and assists in the store; processes transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Understand POS system and handle multiple tender types; comply with company policy.
• Maintain accuracy with cash handling and loss prevention guidelines.
• Adhere to all policies for coupons, stamps, and gift cards; stay informed about promotions and ads.
• Provide customer service and product knowledge; ensure store safety and food safety standards are met.
• Follow directions and seek assistance as needed to resolve customer and business issues.
• Provide support with interactions involving minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults as applicable.
• Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
