Assistant CNO – Behavioral Health

Job Summary

The role of the Assistant Chief Nursing Officer (ACNO) assists the CNO in executive‑level management of resources, strategic planning and development of policies and procedures that align with the mission and vision of the organization. The ACNO has operational and functional responsibility for patient care areas and/or special projects. The ACNO will develop communication, knowledge, leadership, professionalism and business skills necessary to advance to a CNO.

Job Role
  • You will collaborate with the CNO to formulate policies and procedures consistent with recognized standards of professional practice and regulatory requirements.
  • You will ensure continuous performance improvement initiatives are designed to measure and improve the quality of care delivered.
  • You will work collaboratively with other patient care and support departments to foster open communication and mutual problem‑solving activities.
  • You will assist in managing costs by seeking data that identifies opportunities and eliminates non‑value costs.
  • You will assume primary responsibility for projects or task groups as assigned and keep colleagues informed of progress toward desired outcomes.
  • You will actively participate in planning activities associated with the design or implementation of renovation or new construction of patient care areas.
  • You will collaborate with nursing educators to ensure the identified learning needs of nursing staff are promptly addressed and that orientation requires proper preparation to become independent practitioners.
  • You will develop and maintain close working relationships with physician colleagues and other healthcare providers in assigned areas to set goals and develop action plans for patient care or system improvements.
  • You will perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required.
  • Master’s degree in Nursing or another appropriate postgraduate health science degree required or proof of enrollment with a written plan to advanced degree completion required.
  • 5+ years of experience in management and supervisory nursing role; most recent 3 of the last 5 years of leadership must have been in a direct leadership role in a hospital setting or direct patient care environment required or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • Current Registered Nurse license without restrictions required.
Compensation
  • Salary Estimate: up to $142,292/yr (may go up to $150K depending on YOE).
  • 15%-22.5% Bonus Potential.
