Job SummaryWe are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented HR Generalist to join our team. This role is ideal for candidates with experience in fast-paced environments such as retail, gas stations, or fast food, where managing high employee turnover is common. The HR Generalist will handle the full scope of HR responsibilities, including payroll processing, recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, and compliance with labor laws.
Responsibilities- Process payroll accurately and timely for all employees, including hourly and salaried staff, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Manage the full employee lifecycle: recruit, interview, onboard, and offboard employees efficiently to maintain staffing levels in a high-turnover environment.
- Administer employee benefits programs, including enrollment, changes, and troubleshooting employee inquiries.
- Maintain employee records and HRIS data with accuracy and confidentiality.
- Serve as a point of contact for employee relations issues, addressing concerns, resolving conflicts, and promoting a positive workplace culture.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Coordinate and conduct new hire orientations and training sessions.
- Assist with performance management processes, including evaluations and disciplinary actions.
- Support management with workforce planning and employee retention strategies tailored to fast-paced, high-turnover industries.
- Prepare and submit required reports related to payroll, benefits, and compliance.
- Collaborate with payroll vendors or internal payroll teams to resolve discrepancies or issues.
SHRM Certificate Required. Experience in HR Generalist roles within high-turnover environments (retail, gas, or food service) is preferred. Strong knowledge of payroll processing, HRIS, employee relations, benefits administration, and employment law compliance. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage confidential information and work onsite in Lafayette.
