Senior Accountant, Financial Reporting
Location: Lafayette, CO | Hybrid – Tuesdays Onsite
Salary: $80,000–$90,000
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join its accounting team and play a key role in month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial reporting support. This is a hands-on opportunity for an accountant who enjoys digging into the details, working through high transaction volumes, and ensuring accounts and supporting schedules are accurate and complete.
With approximately $10 million in monthly revenue and thousands of individual transactions, the Senior Accountant will be responsible for navigating large volumes of accounting activity, researching discrepancies, and maintaining accurate general ledger balances.

Support the month-end close process, ensuring assigned accounts and schedules are completed accurately and on time
Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules
Perform high-volume bank, accounts receivable, general ledger, and other account reconciliations
Reconcile accounts containing thousands of individual transactions
Prepare and post journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation
Research reconciliation differences, identify root causes, and resolve discrepancies
Perform variance analysis and investigate unusual or unexpected account activity
Utilize Excel extensively to analyze large datasets and support reconciliation activities
Review employee and business expense activity for accuracy and proper accounting treatment
Complete select accounts payable reconciliations and assist with vendor account cleanup
Proactively communicate discrepancies, outstanding items, and accounting issues to leadership
Assist with process improvements as the organization continues to streamline and automate accounting processes
Provide additional accounting and cross-functional support as business needs evolve
Strong hands-on experience with month-end close
Demonstrated experience preparing balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules
Experience working within a high-volume, transactional accounting environment
Strong general ledger knowledge, including journal entries, reconciliations, and account analysis
Advanced Excel skills with the ability to confidently work with large datasets
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to research and resolve discrepancies
Experience with bank, balance sheet, AR, and/or AP reconciliations
Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and appropriately escalate accounting issues
Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
Associate's degree in Accounting or related field preferred
Net Suite experience is a plus, but not required
Flexible, collaborative approach and willingness to work within an evolving accounting environment
The ideal candidate enjoys the investigative side of accounting and isn't satisfied simply carrying forward an unexplained balance. You'll be comfortable digging into supporting detail, tracing discrepancies back to their source, and ensuring the general ledger is fully supported.
