Sub- Buyer

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Sub-contract Buyer to join our procurement team!

In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and managing sub-contracts with external suppliers and vendors to ensure the timely delivery of quality materials and services. Your expertise will drive cost efficiencies, strengthen supplier relationships, and support our overall supply chain objectives. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrate strong negotiation skills, and possess a comprehensive understanding of procurement systems and materials management processes.

Hours:

First shift, Monday-Thursday (4 x 10 hour shift) 6 am- 4:30 pm

Pay: $30-$34/hr

• Develop and execute sourcing strategies for sub-contracts aligned with project requirements and company goals.
• Identify, evaluate, and select qualified suppliers through rigorous sourcing processes.
• Negotiate terms, pricing, delivery schedules, and contractual agreements to secure optimal value.
• Manage the entire procurement lifecycle using ERP systems such as SAP, SAP ERP, JD Edwards, Oracle EBS, or AS400 to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production planning, logistics, inventory management, and merchandising to coordinate procurement activities.
• Monitor supplier performance and conduct regular reviews to maintain quality standards and delivery timelines.
• Maintain comprehensive records of contracts, purchase orders, and supplier communications for audit purposes.
• Optimize inventory control by aligning procurement activities with MRP (Material Requirements Planning) outputs and production schedules.
• Stay current on market trends, pricing fluctuations, and supply chain innovations to inform sourcing decisions.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives in procurement processes to enhance efficiency and cost savings.

• Proven experience in purchasing or procurement roles within manufacturing or supply chain environments.
• Strong familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP (SAP ERP), JD Edwards, Oracle EBS, or AS400 is essential.
• Knowledge of materials management principles including inventory management, supply chain management, logistics, and procurement best practices.
• Demonstrated ability to negotiate effectively with suppliers to achieve favorable terms.
• Experience managing contracts related to sourcing sub-contract services or materials.
• Familiarity with e-commerce platforms for sourcing and procurement activities is a plus.
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in contract administration and record keeping.
• Ability to analyze pricing data and develop strategic sourcing plans based on market insights.
• Strong communication skills for collaborating across departments and negotiating with vendors.
• Educational background in supply chain management, business administration or related fields is preferred.
