Child Watch Attendant - Lafayette

Overview

The YMCA of Northern Colorado is seeking Child Watch Attendants to supervise children in our childcare program. The program provides members with safe, supervised childcare while they exercise, attend classes, or swim. Children aged 6 weeks to 10 years participate in indoor and outdoor activities, craft projects, games, and sports. The role is part‑time, year‑round, with 10‑25 hours per week.

Base pay range: $14.81 per hour. An additional +10% differential is offered for bilingual staff fluent in Spanish and English.

• Closely supervise all children attending Child Watch to maintain a safe environment.
• Ensure the staff‑to‑child ratio is met and that all children are accounted for at all times.
• Perform duties related to keeping the facility clean and safe as described in the Child Watch policies.
• Implement activities suitable for children.
• Communicate clearly and regularly with parents, peers, and supervisors.
• Complete other duties as assigned.

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• Dependable, self‑motivated, and committed to being a positive role model for youth.
• Preferred:
  Experience working with children and an understanding of childhood development.
• Ability to occasionally serve as a substitute if needed.
• Current ARC/YMCA First Aid, CPR, and Blood Borne Pathogens certifications within 30 days of hiring. Training can be provided.
