Eaton's Electrical Services & Systems division is seeking a Lead Power Systems Controls Engineer for a hybrid role with 25‑50% regional travel. A company vehicle and overtime pay are included.
What You’ll DoEaton's Power Systems Controls group offers full‑service systems integration to design, build, and support power systems. As a Lead Power Systems Controls Engineer you will lead the development, testing, and implementation of solutions for customers using PLCs, HMIs, multi‑function protection relays, and substation gateways from major OEMs.
- Design Power Systems Controls.
- Program PLCs and HMIs.
- Program protection relay schemes with or without a data concentrator.
- Manage hyper‑scale data center projects, factory testing, witness testing, and on‑site commissioning.
- Support negotiations through consultation, sales calls, and training.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $93,750 – $137,500. Salaries are based on candidate skills, experience, and market considerations.
Qualifications- Minimum 7 years of power systems controls experience with a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a Technical Field, OR Minimum 4 years of power systems controls experience with a Master’s Degree in Engineering or a Technical Field.
- Valid and unrestricted driver’s license.
- Only candidates residing within a 50‑mile radius of Chandler, AZ, City of Industry, CA, Pleasanton, CA, Roseville, CA, San Diego, CA, Littleton, CO, Wilsonville, OR, Las Vegas, NV, Salt Lake City, UT, Kennewick, WA, or Tukwila, WA will be considered. Active‑duty military candidates are exempt from this requirement.
- Master of Science in Electrical Engineering.
- Professional Engineering license.
- Experience with PLC programming, direct customer interaction, and deployment of power automation projects.
- Design automation systems, power management systems, HMI software, PLC programming, and protective relay monitoring and control systems.
- Test equipment and diagnostic instruments for automation and power management systems.
- Troubleshooting, testing, and repair techniques.
- Knowledge of company and competitor automation and power management services.
- Strong computer literacy; proficiency with all relevant software.
- Safety precautions related to working with automation and power systems.
- Service representation and long‑term customer satisfaction.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication/presentation skills.
- Experience with AutoCAD.
- Compliance with the company’s safety program.
- Periodic background and drug screening compliance.
