Join our Global Supply Management team as a Sr Category Manager-Electronic Assemblies, where you utilize your strong track record of delivering results in a matrixed organization, where collaboration with diverse individuals, teams, and skill sets is essential for success.

As the Sr Category Manager-Electronic Assemblies, you will partner and lead several categories in electronics, including Sensors, Sensor Assemblies, and other electronic assemblies categories. You will utilize your strong negotiation, technical, and relationship-building skills. As the Sr Category Manager, you will understand global materials markets and have technical expertise in secondary processes to develop global strategies that leverage Medtronic’s global purchasing power and deliver cost-effective, innovative solutions to each operating unit within our network.

In addition, you will focus on multiple tiers of your supplier’s supply chain to maximize leverage and awareness, ensuring compliance and continuity.

As the Sr Category Manager-Electronic Assemblies, you will:

• Advocate for the supply management function with business units and operational partners to ensure support for core business objectives
• Negotiate contracts that provide year-over-year benefits in performance
• Identify and develop business cases for a healthy year-over-year cost-reduction pipeline with suppliers through lean, should-cost, process improvement, tier-2 strategies, and yield improvements
• Perform market analysis to identify the best cost country for sourcing of said category, guide technical sourcing and engineering with supplier innovations, and proactively develop forward-buy agreements where appropriate
• Define and manage winning category strategies and approaches with suppliers
• Develop supplier relationships and drive year-over-year performance improvements with quality, delivery, and costs
• Lead regular business reviews with suppliers
• Analyze received quotations, select or recommend new suppliers
• Rationalize existing supplier base through stratification, market analysis, supplier development, and supplier consolidation
• Support new and ongoing supplier quality audit activities to ensure the supply base has robust process controls and capabilities to meet existing and future Medtronic business requirements
• Conduct supply chain risk reviews
• Act independently to prescribe methods and new approaches for new and special assignments
• Identify and use metrics, tools, business intelligence, and processes to optimize sourcing, supplier activities, and efficiency, while collaborating with team members to prioritize and drive implementation

• Bachelor's degree required
• Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
• Knowledge of Electronics & Electronic Assemblies and Suppliers

• Highly skilled in developing and executing negotiation strategies with strong organization and collaboration skills
• Technical and commercial know-how of commodity market trends and manufacturing process technologies of the category
