Speech Therapist Clinical Fellow - Early Intervention

Pay: $33.00/hour (non-bilingual) or $34.00/hour (bilingual Spanish and English fluency); both have opportunities to increase by $1/hour.

Location: Services provided to families within Boulder county and Broomfield county

Schedule: Full Time, 35 hours/week, exempt (salaried)

Currently Hiring For:

  • Speech Language Clinical Fellow
    ; $33/hr, Full Time, Benefit Eligible at 35 hrs/week. Requirements for this position include:
    • Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology
    • The ability to obtain the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) within the first year of employment.
    • Licensure through Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies.
    • Meets requirements for Certificate of Clinical Competence as set by ASHA or ability to do so within one year.
  • Bilingual Speech Language Clinical Fellow
    ; $34/hr, Full Time, Benefit Eligible at 35 hrs/week. Requirements for this position include:
    • Oral and written exam to determine Spanish proficiency through the Language Testing Institute with a score of Intermediate High or above.
    • Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology
    • The ability to obtain the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) within the first year of employment.
    • Licensure through Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies.
    • Meets requirements for Certificate of Clinical Competence as set by ASHA or ability to do so within one year.

    Purpose of Position - To provide comprehensive speech language therapy services to children and families enrolled in Dayspring services. Consults with Dayspring staff and families regarding speech language therapy techniques and provides parent education, direct services, & home programs to children and their families.

    Essential Duties/Responsibilities

    • Provide comprehensive assessment and consultation; designs therapeutic interventions/activities for children and families enrolled in Dayspring services.
      • Travels to participants’ homes, daycare and other community-based sites to deliver services.
      • Develops a variety of activities that support Dayspring’s philosophy that children learn through play.
      • Recognizes and respects individual needs of each child and family and tailors services and supports to meet those needs.
  • Contributes to the development of the individual family service plan, including addressing all areas of development and writing developmental outcomes. Ensures services and supports are provided as requested on the child’s IFSP or on the Request for Dayspring Services Form.
  • Consults with Dayspring staff, parents, caregivers, service coordinators, and daycare providers to share developmental information and therapeutic techniques.
  • Participates in case review, team and general staff meetings.
  • Refers family to service coordinator to assist families in accessing additional funding or services.
  • Ensures complete and accurate documentation, including assessments, initial summaries, progress notes, transition reports, and home programs.
  • Promotes community capacity building & collaboration.
  • Works collaboratively and treats others with respect & dignity.
  • Maintains weekly attendance records.
  • Participates in Dayspring program development & program evaluation.
  • Contributes to the financial viability of the program through maintaining billable hours, as required.
  • This position requires regular use of a personal vehicle with liability insurance that meets Imagine! standards.
  • Participates in Child Find screenings/assessments as requested by family or Imagine! staff.
  • Maintains therapy materials, toys and equipment.
  • Completes ASHA requirements for Clinical Fellowship.
  • Job Qualifications

    Knowledge, Skill, and Ability:

    • Solid knowledge of child development, motor, cognition, social emotional and self-help areas.
    • Solid knowledge of speech-language, oral motor, and feeding.
    • Skill in assessment, and in designing and implementing therapeutic techniques.
    • Knowledge of state-of-the-art “best practices,” services and supports for people with developmental disabilities.
    • Knowledge of the Hanen technique.
