Deputy Sheriff

Pay

Base pay range: $25.00/hr – $25.00/hr.

• Enforce laws and ordinances to maintain peace and protect life and property;
• Patrol assigned sectors for the prevention of crime and investigate suspicious activities;
• Arrest violators of laws and ordinances;
• Respond to emergency calls, accidents, and other incidents;
• Enforce all traffic laws; issue citations and warnings;
• Investigate and complete reports of collisions, including private property collisions;
• Serve criminal warrants and court orders;
• Conduct investigations of criminal cases and gather, preserve, and analyze facts and evidence;
• Conduct follow-up investigations of preliminary reports as needed;
• Interview complainants, victims, witnesses, and suspects;
• Prepare detailed reports of incidents and investigations;
• Testify in criminal court on various matters, including findings of investigations;

• High School Diploma or GED
• P.O.S.T. certified as a law enforcement officer in the state of Georgia and in good standing;
• United States citizen;
• Possess a valid driver license;
• Must be at least 21 years of age;
• Must qualify on the State Qualification Course with assigned firearms;
• Pass a background investigation, psychological examination, drug screen, and oral interview;
• Have no felony convictions.
