Indiana University Health Medical Group – OBGYN Physician (Dept Chair) – Arnett Hospital

Lafayette, IN. Full‑time department chair position in the OBGYN department at IU Health Arnett Hospital.

• Full time
• Day shift, Monday – Friday, 8AM – 5PM
• 1:9 call schedule with 24‑hr in‑house call
• 100% outpatient, some inpatient work depending on surgeries
• Patient volume 60‑70/week in office, 4‑5/week in hospital (dependent on surgery volume)
• Team of 9 physicians, 7 APPs, 30 support staff

• Provide administrative leadership and clinical oversight as department chair
• Schedule and lead monthly department meetings, produce agendas and minutes with dept manager
• Ensure adequate coverage of clinical responsibilities, publish on‑call schedules timely
• Address patient complaints, approve schedule changes while maintaining access
• Manage departmental budget with practice managers
• Handle personnel issues in collaboration with dept manager, CMO, HR
• Conduct quarterly rounding on all dept providers and hold periodic one‑on‑one meetings
• Provide obstetrics and gynecology patient care, including full‑spectrum surgery
• DaVinci robotic surgery preferred

• Board certified with medical degree or foreign equivalent
• Licensed to practice in Indiana; current BLS certification
• OBGYN residency required
• Excellent communication skills; knowledge of policies & procedures

• Robot‑capable facility with robots at both ambulatory surgery center and main hospital
• AI OR scheduling program – live
• MD anesthesia available or medical direction
• OR metrics team working on FCOTS, scheduling, turnover times
• Chief of Surgery and peri‑operative OR director onsite
• Engaged OR nurses, pre‑ and post‑operative nurses
