Adjunct Faculty - Agriculture
Ivy Tech Community College is seeking adjunct faculty to teach. Adjunct faculty positions are temporary, part‑time positions hired each semester on an as‑needed basis. The instructor will create a learning environment that assists students in reaching their goals and provide effective instruction and assessment within the framework of common syllabi provided by the School.
This posting will remain open continuously to build a pool of qualified candidates for future openings. Applicants will not be notified unless there is an actual need to fill the position or the candidate does not meet minimum requirements.
Responsibilities- Teach and facilitate student learning in assigned classes in accordance with the syllabus.
- Maintain student attendance and grading records according to College policy.
- Provide syllabus‑appropriate content and assessment.
- Be available to students outside scheduled class time for questions and assistance.
- Use technology such as Canvas, PowerPoint, etc. as appropriate.
- Notify program or department chair promptly of any emergency absence.
- Strong working knowledge of current technologies appropriate to the area of instruction.
- Faculty credentials as outlined in ASOM 7.1 applicable to the specific area of instruction.
- For AGRI 114 – Introduction to Agricultural Systems: earned master’s or higher degree in Agricultural and Biological Engineering, Agricultural Systems, Management, Agronomy, Animal Science, Agricultural Economics, or Agriculture Education.
- For AGRI 219 – Crop Machinery & Equipment: meets the Agriculture Program Standard.
- Met School of Advanced Manufacturing, Engineering & Applied Science criteria: either an earned baccalaureate or higher degree in one of several listed fields, a current Workplace Specialist License from the Indiana Department of Education linked to course objectives, or an earned associate or higher degree with two years of directly related work experience.
- Selected candidate will be subject to pre‑employment background checks, including criminal history check.
- Any offer of employment will be contingent upon the outcome of that check.
- Copies of transcripts may be required at time of interview; original hard copies will be required at time of hire.
