Job DescriptionExecution of engine and package performance, validation, and certification test activities; writing test instructions for Dyno/Package Technicians using WRS or GA/WO systems; maintaining test cells to regulatory compliance; managing suppliers and supplier quotations; supporting engine and aftertreatment installation; ensuring test systems and instruments are active; analyzing test results for performance calibration and emissions; collaborating on recommendations; ensuring tests run on schedule and providing weekly updates;
applying test acquisition systems such as FEV, AVL, National Instruments, Horiba, I-Test; utilizing FMEA, DVP&R, and other validation methods; using data analysis tools (Excel, DATK, Perfex, Matlab, Diadem, AVL Concerto); collaborating with engineering management and operations staff; developing root‑cause analysis and issue‑resolution recommendations; working with test and engineering teams on planning and improvement initiatives.
- Execution of all engine/package performance, validation & certification test activities
- Writing Test instructions for Dyno/Package Technicians for individual tests using WRS systems or Technical Center GA/WO systems
- Utilizing or developing standard test protocols & methods to deliver highest data quality
- Maintaining the development cells to 1065 regulatory compliance standards
- Managing test cell & facilities equipment suppliers, drafting supplier quotations, requisition creation & final work execution by suppliers
- Supporting the operators & technicians in engine and aftertreatment installation activities & completing critical cell intake/exhaust routing designs
- Ensuring the appropriate engine test cell systems are active, engines & components are instrumented, and the desired test schedules (cycles) are executed
- Analyzing test results for performance calibration trade‑off curves, mechanical & structural instrumentation data reporting, emissions test cycle reporting, and root‑cause analysis of unexpected deviations
- Collaborating with the technical lead to develop recommendations for engine performance calibration or component risk assessment
- Ensuring tests are run on schedule & providing weekly updates to management on project progress
- Applying principles of Test Acquisition Data systems such as FEV, AVL, National Instruments, Horiba, I-Test; knowledge of CAN‑based protocols
- Applying validation experience (FMEA, DVP&R development, etc.)
- Applying computer skills and learning engineering data analysis tools (MS‑Excel, DATK, Perfex, Matlab, Diadem, AVL Concerto & others)
- Collaborating daily with engineering management and hourly operations staff on test execution and related activities
- Developing and delivering root‑cause analysis of failures and issue‑resolution recommendations
- Working with test teams and other engineering teams on test planning, efficiency improvement plans and other key initiatives
