Landis+Gyr Co‑op program is designed to enhance the quality and scope of learning by providing students with the option of integrating academic study with related, work‑based learning. Applicants must be enrolled in the undergraduate program and available to commit to a rotating 3‑semester schedule alternating work semesters with school semesters. This rotation begins May 2026 – the student will be working on site Monday through Friday approximately 40 hours per week in Lafayette, Indiana.

This is a paid position but we don’t offer housing assistance so candidates local to the Lafayette, IN area are preferred. Master’s level students will not be considered.

General Engineering Lab Rotation (First Rotation)
  • Compliance Testing and Applications (80%)
    • Theory and practical application of Revenue Metering
    • Introduction to Compliance Engineering and Testing Methods
    • Data Collection, Evaluation and Analysis
    • Interpretation of International and Domestic Standards and test procedures
    • Test Equipment Calibration and Certification
    • Engineering evaluation of component, assembly and product
  • Continuous Improvement Project Focused on Test System Design and Automation (20%)
    • System Integration, Design and Assembly
General Engineering Lab Rotation (Second Rotation)
  • Advanced Compliance Testing and Applications (50%)
  • Continuous Improvement Project Focused on Test System Design and Automation (50%)

Required Skills
  • Personal Computer knowledge
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite

  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
Required Experience

Co‑op applicants must be undergraduate students with a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Engineering, Engineering Technology, Applied Physics, Computer Science, Data Science or other relevant major required.
