Rotation:
Weekends & Holidays | On-Call as Needed

Arnett Hospital is seeking a dedicated Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) to join our Labor & Delivery team in a dynamic dual‑role position that blends CST and Unit Support Technician (UST) responsibilities.

Responsibilities CST Responsibilities
  • Assist with vaginal deliveries and Cesarean sections (scheduled and emergency)
  • Occasionally support GYN surgeries (infrequent)
  • Scrub in and perform traditional OR duties including passing instruments and first assist
  • Work exclusively within the L&D unit, including our dedicated OR
  • Transport instruments, stock rooms, and prepare/setup the OR
  • Collaborate with a second CST on each shift to ensure comprehensive coverage
UST Responsibilities
  • Staff the L&D front desk and interact with visitors
  • Escort patients from registration to the unit
  • Answer phones and schedule procedures
  • Admit newborns into Cerner at the time of delivery

Qualifications

Requires a High School Diploma/GED.

  • Certified Surgical Technologist obtained from the NBSTSA within four months of employment.
  • Basic Life Support Certification.
  • Ability to resource advanced technology.
  • 15 continuing education units annually as required by state law.
  • Knowledge of various surgical procedures to anticipate the needs of the surgeon and recognize problems within 12 months of employment.
  • Knowledge of name and function of surgical equipment and instrumentation.
  • Strict adherence to policies and regulations regarding maintenance of sterile field.
