QualificationsJob Summary: The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA), under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, provides therapeutic interventions in an interdisciplinary environment, adhering to professional standards and ethical practices.
Licenses and Certifications: Must have and maintain a current, valid state PTA license or certification. CPR certification is preferred.
Education and Experience: Degree in Physical Therapist Assistant from an accredited program. 0-1 years of experience.
Roles and Responsibilities- Implement treatment plans designed by Physical Therapists, including therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and modalities (e.g., heat, cold, electrical stimulation).
- Observe patient responses to therapy, document progress, and report findings and concerns to the supervising Physical Therapist.
- Provide instructions to patients and families on exercise techniques, safety precautions, and strategies for continued progress at home.
- Support Physical Therapists in evaluating patient needs and progress, providing additional observations and insights.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
