As a School Crossing Guard, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of children and pedestrians crossing the street on the way to and from school. You will be working in school neighborhoods, interacting with parents, children, and other members of the community.

• Safely guide pedestrians across designated intersections or crosswalks
• Monitor traffic flow and stop vehicles as needed to ensure safe crossings
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and drivers to promote safety
• Maintain compliance with all safety practices
• This position often requires short response times to the job site so candidates in or adjacent to Lafayette are preferred.

Lafayette School Crossing Guards earn $22.90 per hour. Work 1 hour before and 1 hour after school.
