Responsibilities- Train and assist associates on performing TPM (Total Preventive Maintenance) assignments.
- Be able to perform machine set up, operate machinery in a safe manner and ensure equipment safety features are in place and functioning properly.
- Make sure scrap is recorded accurately and disposed of daily and ensure rework is completed in a timely manner.
- Fill in for associates when necessary.
- Understand and be able to operate and assist individual process stations on all equipment.
- Perform lock-out and tag-out (LOTO) procedures for clearing all equipment faults and restoring machine energy in accordance with established LOTO procedures.
- Inform Production Manager of any and all quality / safety non-conformities.
- Accurate completion of paperwork and data entry.
- Accurate completion of safety and environmental records.
- Maintain 5S3D, Kaizen and all elements of SQDCME. Maintain safety work environmental within department.
- Inspects products to verify conformance to specifications.
- Train and assist all associates on adjusting machines and equipment to repair products which fail to meet standards. Train associates on safety related processes.
- Analyzes and provide inputs to resolves work problems or assists associates in solving work problems.
- Monitoring absenteeism and maintains time and production records.
- Conducts cross training of associates to include maintaining and verifying performance levels and updating records. keeping records of progress.
- Responsible for all associates in your area during emergency, ensuring all associates understand and follow the response procedures for all types of emergency events.
- Assist on monitoring and maintaining all TPM Goals (Safety, Scrap, Customer Defects, In-Process Defects and Downtime Frequency).
- Supports and participates in continual improvement projects for Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS).
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and two years manufacturing experience (preferred experience with Heartland Automotive).
- Leadership and decision‑making skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and good verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of Excel, Microsoft Office Word and Microsoft Outlook.
- Knowledge of Pareto Charts.
- Lead and guide associates on specific manufacturing lines. Carries out basic supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organization policies and procedures. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; processing complaints and resolving problems.
- Ability to read and analyze information; write reports and work instructions; effectively present information and respond to questions.
- Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Develop and maintain a positive attitude and promote teamwork.
- Know all potential work and environmental hazards.
The employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee must stand, walk, sit and talk and hear. The employee must lift and/move up to 10 pounds frequently up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
