Role

Summary:

The Strategic Partnerships and Fundraising Volunteer will drive critical funding and develop strategic partnerships for PLA International’s projects in the U.S. and Uganda. The role may evolve into a paid position or include commission on successful funds raised.

Responsibilities
  • Research and identify potential funding opportunities, including grants, foundations, and individual donors.
  • Develop and write compelling grant proposals tailored to specific funding opportunities and project needs.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with potential partners, including organizations, businesses, and individuals.
  • Assist in fundraising efforts for both U.S. and Ugandan projects, developing distinct strategies for each entity.
  • Focus on securing funding for specific projects such as research and the development of a training and skilling center in Uganda.
  • Collaborate with other team members on the development and refinement of comprehensive fundraising plans and initiatives.
  • Work with the communications team to showcase the success of fundraising campaigns and donor contributions.
Desired Skills and Experience
  • Experience in grant research and identification of funding opportunities.
  • Proven ability in grant writing and developing compelling proposals.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate project needs into fundable proposals.
  • Experience cultivating and maintaining relationships with partners or donors.
  • Familiarity with fundraising strategies, particularly for domestic and international projects.
