Position: Locum NP (Nurse Practitioner);PA (Physician's Assistant) Hematology Oncology

Description

We are currently seeking a dedicated Locum NP (Nurse Practitioner) or PA (Physician's Assistant) specializing in Hematology Oncology. In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing high-quality care to patients with cancer and blood disorders. Your contributions will be vital in supporting the healthcare team and ensuring the best possible outcomes for our patients. This position offers a rewarding opportunity to work on impactful projects in a dynamic healthcare environment.

As a Locum NP or PA in Hematology Oncology, you will be responsible for conducting patient assessments, developing treatment plans, and collaborating with physicians to deliver comprehensive care. Your role will involve managing symptoms, administering medications, and offering support to patients and their families throughout their treatment journey.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform comprehensive physical assessments of patients.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests and procedures.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
  • Provide patient education on disease management and treatment options.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure coordinated patient care.
  • Monitor and document patient progress and outcomes.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and case conferences.
Requirements:
  • Valid Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician's Assistant (PA) license.
  • Specialization or certification in Hematology Oncology.
  • Strong knowledge of cancer treatments and hematologic disorders.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare setting.
  • Empathy and compassion for patients facing serious illnesses.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with a diverse healthcare team.

Schedule:

Monday-Friday, 8a-5:30p

Call rotation every 4th or 5th week

Daily Volume: 15-18 patients

Level III trauma facility

Setting:
Primarily outpatient with some inpatient

Patient Mix: 70% oncology, 30% hematology

Support Staff:
Oncologists, APP, MA

Must be board-certified or board-eligible

Paid travel & lodging
