Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring strong neuro skills and eligibility to administer cardiac drips.

• Work on a dynamic mixed acuity unit serving both medical surgical and progressive care patients
• Patient populations include oncology, stroke, cardiac, gastrointestinal, and pulmonary cases
• Handles unstable strokes, cardiac drips (Cardizem, Amiodarone, Insulin), and BiPap cases
• MS patients have ratios of 1:5-6; PCU patients have ratios of 1:3-4
• Uses Cerner EMR;
  Cerner experience required
• Shift is 3x12 day shifts, 6:00 to 18:30
• Will float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals as needed
• Primary responsibilities include managing patients with mixed acuity, administering vasoactive drips, and monitoring post-cardiac procedures
• Must adhere to red top, black bottom scrub dress code
• Candidates must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Up to 5 days of requested time off may be auto-approved
• Returning employees must have a 12-month gap since last PRN or perm position
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply

• Active IN or compact RN license required (pending accepted, must be in hand before start)
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications accepted from AHA or RQI
• 18 months to 2 years of RN experience in a relevant acute care setting required
• Demonstrated experience administering Cardizem, Amiodarone, Lasix, Insulin drips, and post-heart cath/pacemaker care
• Strong neuro patient care background required
• Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
