Overview
We are looking for a fire sprinkler service level I life safety technician to perform inspection, testing, service and repairs of fire sprinkler systems and related components. This includes confirming compliance with applicable life-safety and fire-safety requirements as mandated by standards and codes, manufacturers requirements, federal, state and local ordinances, customer requirements, and the expectations and requirements of the company. This is a fast paced and demanding role with high visibility within the company.
Responsibilities- Perform inspection and testing of all types of fire sprinkler systems at the required frequencies in accordance with NFPA 25 requirements and instructions.
- Troubleshoot and perform service and repair of fire sprinkler systems such as fire pumps and related components.
- Record and document all inspections, repairs, discrepancies, and recommendations either electronically or manually.
- Maintain a positive relationship with customers and communicate information to the appropriate personnel for follow up, quotes, questions, or concerns.
- Maintain the vehicle in clean and orderly fashion; keep stocked with parts, equipment, and supplies needed to perform the job.
- Maintain equipment and tools necessary to safely perform the job.
- Evaluate customer site for additional equipment and services the customer may require.
- Work in compliance with the company safety program.
- Perform on-site and/or off-site (phone) emergency troubleshooting of sprinkler systems.
- Test backflow prevention devices as required by NFPA 25 and state and local codes.
- Discuss deficiencies noted with the customer, explaining the problem and its resolution.
- Be flexible with hours, including potential night, weekend, or holiday work as needed; discuss requirements with your manager.
- Must be comfortable with heights, working on ladders or lifts, or in confined spaces.
- A minimum of 6 months of technical experience with aspects of plan preparation for water-based fire protection systems, including CAD drawing preparation and field surveys.
- Ability to calculate basic math including fractions, decimals and percentages.
- Knowledge of basic computer functions and software; ability to learn industry-specific devices and software.
- Must currently have a valid U.S. driver's license.
- 1–2 years of experience with water-based fire protection systems.
- NICET I Certification in water-based systems.
- State license in the relevant state of application.

Overtime may be required; varying work environments from hot to cold temperatures with potential travel. May require lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally. Frequent lifting and carrying of tools and equipment; ladder use; driving; and wearing PPE as required by safety standards.
