We are currently seeking an Associate Engineer, which is a temporary, part‑time position for an engineering student or recent graduate. This position reports directly to the Engineering Project Manager and is a vital part of the goal to develop automated methods for testing system software. This is a paid (part‑time) position.

Engineering Innovation, Inc. (EII) based in Lafayette, Indiana (just 20 minutes away from Purdue University) has been a premier provider of postal automation since 2006. EII is a small but growing dynamic company looking for highly motivated individuals to join its engineering team. The engineering team is responsible for the design, construction, testing, maintenance, and documentation of world‑class postal automation equipment as well as assisting in defining the overall product direction.

• Testing
  • Write and execute test cases for EII’s equipment and software applications.
  • Utilize virtual machines (VMs) to test EII’s software applications.
• Development
  • Develop software applications that will automatically test EII's production software applications.
• Documentation
  • Document procedures, test results, and troubleshooting steps.
  • Document prototype system set‑up and components (network diagrams, wiring diagrams, etc.).
  • Document software and system component interactions (activity diagrams, sequence diagrams, etc.).

• Ability to work a minimum of 32 hours/week (Monday – Friday, no nights or weekends).
• Excellent problem‑solving skills.
• Strong communication skills.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail.

• Python, C/C#/C++ programming languages.
• Windows and Linux (Debian) operating systems.
• Microsoft SQL Server database.
• Atlassian products (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket).
• Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
• Amazon AWS Cloud Environment.
