About the RoleAs an Expanded Duties Dental Assistant (EDDA) you will support the clinical treatment of patients, sustain patient comfort, soothe upset patients, listen to their needs, educate them on dental procedures, manage clinical supplies, and assist the dentist in a supported schedule while adhering to OSHA and company safety policies.
Responsibilities- Assist the dentist in managing dental emergencies and ongoing clinical procedures.
- Taking and recording medical and dental histories and patient vital signs.
- Organize and maintain lab equipment, take and develop X‑rays, and provide comprehensive post‑operative procedures.
- Improve clinical skills through participation in continuing education and training opportunities offered by Heartland Dental.
- Support the dentist’s schedule and ensure smooth patient flow.
- Positive, outgoing personality with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Exceptional patient‑care skills and strong organizational abilities.
- Superior working knowledge of dental procedures and terminology.
- Good manual dexterity and computer proficiency.
- Ability to build rapport with patients.
- Open to travel for training or occasional overnight stays.
- Dental assisting school certificate and/or previous dental practice experience are pluses.
