Environmental Services Aide - Ortho EVS - Full Time - DAYS

Ochsner Health invites applications for the Environmental Services Aide - Ortho EVS position (Full Time, Days).

Job Summary:

This role cleans and services areas such as guest, patient, public, clinical and administrative areas, maintaining a clean and aseptic environment.

• Maintains assigned area in a clean and aseptic manner.
• Maintains environmental closet and equipment in a clean, aseptic and orderly manner.
• Assists with restock of café and bar as necessary.
• Assists with special cleaning projects and room turnover.
• Follows all current Joint Commission / CMS regulations pertaining to Environment of Care and cleaning requirements.
• Other related duties as required.

• None required education; must read, write, and speak/understand verbal communication in English.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience operating environmental services equipment (dust mop, wet mop, bucket and wringer, spray bottles, dustpan).
• Preferred: 1 year relevant experience.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Basic knowledge of housekeeping, cleaning, and cleaning equipment/supplies.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule when needed.
• Ability to listen, take direction, and complete tasks with minimal supervision.

Heavy work:
Exerting 50-100 pounds occasionally, 25-50 pounds frequently, 10-20 pounds constantly to move objects. Must be able to work with chemicals, expose to blood, body fluid, tissue, potential hazardous medications or waste.
