Job DescriptionDatabase Administrator is responsible for administering, maintaining, and optimizing database environments in support of enterprise applications and data services. This role applies knowledge of database platforms, performance tuning, disaster recovery, capacity planning, and security management to ensure database availability, reliability, and operational efficiency. The Database Administrator supports routine and non routine database operations while contributing to continuous improvement of database services.
This position is located in our Lafayette, Louisiana office; however, a hybrid working model is acceptable.
Your future duties and responsibilities- Manage and maintain database instances across approved database platforms;
- Implement and support backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies;
- Monitor and optimize database performance, availability, and resource utilization;
- Perform capacity planning and recommend improvements to support future growth;
- Administer database security, user access, and permission controls;
- Troubleshoot and resolve database issues affecting application or system performance;
- Support database patching, upgrades, and lifecycle maintenance activities;
- Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and security teams to support database operations
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent relevant experience if permitted by contract;
- Experience in database administration, systems engineering, infrastructure support, or a related technical field;
- Experience with one or more enterprise database platforms;
- Knowledge of database performance tuning, backup and recovery, capacity planning, and security management;
- Familiarity with disaster recovery concepts and database availability practices;
- Strong troubleshooting, collaboration, and communication skills
- CGI is required by law in some jurisdictions to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role.
Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $70,800.00 $. - CGI Federal's benefits are offered to eligible professionals on their first day of employment to include:
