OverviewWe are seeking an Accounting Manager to join our Outsourced Accounting practice focused on special projects. This team helps our clients transform their organizations with a collaborative approach that allows them to seamlessly mitigate risk, overcome challenges, meet deadlines, and identify personnel to help them with their workforce needs.
Please note that this is a hybrid position; you would be expected to go to our local office or client location as needed. You must be available to work in Eastern and/or Central time zones.

- Evaluate client needs related to accounting and finance processes and recommend project approaches.
- Contribute to proposal development on outsourced controller/CFO projects and other special projects.
- Participate in engagement planning, budgeting, and definition of content and deliverables while managing controls and risk.
- Manage and deliver outsourced controller/CFO projects, including overseeing day‑to‑day accounting functions, managing accounts receivable and payable, and remitting payments to taxing authorities.
- Manage month‑end closing and prepare financial statements according to accounting standards.
- Research technical accounting issues and formulate resolutions.
- Lead special projects related to client accounting functions.
- Recommend improvements to internal accounting processes and controls.
- Analyze trends and metrics with leadership to develop solutions.
- Build and maintain client day‑to‑day relationships.
- Ensure adequate staffing and scheduling of internal and external activities.
- Create and manage project budgets and ensure projects stay at or under approved budgets.
- Collaborate across service lines to develop multi‑focused solutions.
- Direct engagements and supervise multiple simultaneous projects.
- Deliver client services, including onsite and remote consultations, training, and workshop materials.
- Monitor project timelines, budgets, and billing activities.
- Interact regularly with other service line leaders and team members.
- Partner with management on practice development activities.
- Participate in training program evaluation.
- Review reports, statements, and returns upon completion.
- Communicate engagement status to Senior Manager, Director, or Partner.
- Recommend new approaches and tools to improve efficiency.
- Provide direction, training, and oversight to staff and supervisors.
- Support staff professional and technical development.
- Promote morale, productivity, and retention.
- Maintain required CPE hours and licensing standards.
- BA or BS degree in accounting or related field.
- 5+ years of relevant accounting, audit, and/or financial statements experience.
- Prior supervisory experience.
- CPA certification or exams passed (preferred).
- Accounting back‑office experience.
- Proficiency in accounting software and systems (Microsoft Office, Adobe, scheduling, travel, expense, timekeeping).
- Intermediate or advanced use of software tools such as Sage Intacct, Restaurant 365, Net Suite, Quick Books.
- Strong organization, goal orientation, and self‑motivation.
- Ability to handle multiple client files and deadlines simultaneously.
- Ability to handle pressure in a positive professional manner.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Cooperative teamwork and appreciation of diverse contributions.
- Proven success in managing client relationships and exceeding expectations.
- Capability to perform in challenging situations positively.

Salary RangeNew York and California: $85,000‑$150,000 (dependent on experience); other geographies: range may vary.
