Restoration DCL-A Job Appointment
As a DCL-A Biologist within the Department’s Oil Spill Program, the incumbent will act as a high level scientific and technical advisor to the Biologist Program Manager. The principal focus of this position will be development and implementation of restoration projects associated with the Deepwater Horizon (DWH) oil spill. The incumbent will possess specialized working knowledge of wildlife and habitat injury associated with the DWH spill within coastal Louisiana and, possess at least 3 years’ experience in restoring coastal habitats that directly benefits (e.g., increased bird nesting) DWH-impacted wildlife species.
Further, the incumbent will assist in the development and implementation of statewide Natural Resource Damage Assessments (NRDA) which encompass highly complex environmental injury analyses that directly support the Department’s emphasis on restoring impacted natural resources throughout the state. This position will also assist in statewide oil spill response.
