Position Overview
As a Field Service Technician, you are responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and removal of brewing and serving equipment at customer locations. This role requires a hands-on approach to problem solving, strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, and the ability to provide prompt and courteous service. Field Service Technicians play a key role in supporting the sales function by ensuring equipment performs reliably and meets customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities
Prioritize and schedule service calls, equipment installations, removals, and preventive maintenance with guidance from the Warehouse Manager or Field Service Supervisor.
Drive a company vehicle to customer locations to perform on-site service tasks in a timely and professional manner.
Install and remove brewing and serving equipment, utilizing plumbing and basic electrical skills as needed.
Diagnose issues by observing equipment performance and using appropriate troubleshooting techniques.
Repair or replace defective parts, make mechanical adjustments, and test equipment functionality after service.
Perform preventive maintenance to ensure equipment longevity and minimize customer disruption.
Manage parts inventory, including initiating purchase orders for machines and replacement parts as required.
Properly open and close work orders using a handheld device, record parts usage, and ensure accurate documentation of installations, removals, and repairs.
Maintain vehicle cleanliness and perform regular inspections and scheduled maintenance.
Safely handle, label, and store defective or warranty-eligible parts in compliance with company procedures.
Collaborate with sales representatives and customers to confirm equipment placement and service needs.
Support bench repair work or in-shop equipment servicing when needed.
Report any property damage caused by company equipment and assist in documenting incidents in the absence of a supervisor.
May be asked to perform additional duties, as necessary.
Position Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required
Passing score on aptitude test may be required if diploma is unavailable.
3 years of experience in HVAC, electrical, appliance repair, or similar mechanical field.
Familiarity with mechanical and electrical troubleshooting required.
Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record; CDL may be required depending on location.
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Proficiency with handheld computer devices preferred.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook); experience with SAP S/4
HANA is a plus.
Must successfully complete a pre-employment physical.

Experience with Community Coffee, even if unrelated, may fulfill this requirement at the discretion of the hiring manager with approval from Human Resources.
