Position: I&E Technician (Lafayette, LA)

Overview

We are a systems integration and engineering services company focused on reducing industrial inefficiencies. We provide best-in-class operational technology to control, automate, operate, analyze and optimize assets in the manufacturing and industrial ecosystem.

Responsibilities
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities to apprentice-level crew members.
  • Install conduit and/or MC-HL type cable according to the NEC code.
  • Install and troubleshoot different relays, VFDs, wireless or hard-wired instrumentation and controllers.
  • Work on process, compression and metering equipment used in the upstream and midstream sectors of the oilfield.
  • Install electrical power, control, measurement and safety systems for the upstream and midstream sectors.
  • Generate and communicate detailed work records and paperwork.
  • Install, calibrate and troubleshoot instrumentation.
  • Install, configure and troubleshoot EFMs.
  • Install, configure and troubleshoot radios and cell modems.
Minimum Requirements:

Experience, Education and Certifications
  • Minimum of five (5) years of instrumentation and electrical experience in the industrial oil and gas sectors.
  • Experience in all phases of a project for installation of instrumentation and electrical systems and/or equipment.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Up to date on NFPA 70E/NEC code updates.
  • Applicable regulatory safety training.
Skills
  • Proficient in reading electrical schematics and drawings.
  • Understanding of electrical systems, switch gear, circuit types and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to work on low and medium voltage equipment and circuits.
  • Knowledge of electrical components commonly found in the oil and gas industry.
  • Ability to install, wire and loop test PLCs, RTUs and EFMs.
  • Work safely and recognize potential hazards.
  • Ability to work under pressure and lead in challenging situations.
  • Ability to calibrate and troubleshoot process instrumentation.
Personal Relation Skills
  • Detail-oriented, results-driven with commitment to quality and the ability to organize and prioritize workloads to meet deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal and excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving, technical, and functional skills with the ability to multi-task and learn.
  • Ability to work collaboratively, take direction, and interact with all levels of management, engineering, systems, operations and field personnel.
  • Ability to multitask and demonstrate flexibility in managing multiple projects.

  • Handheld electrical tools
  • Laptop with software for configurations of EFMs, cell modems and radio networks
Work Conditions
  • Willingness to work weekends and/or overtime when needed to meet deadlines or customer requests.
  • Field-based position with time pressures and input-dependent tasks; must be fit for duty.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and meet the insurer’s driving policy requirements.
  • Per diem to cover travel, meals and lodging in accordance with applicable law.
  • Subject to a background check and drug and alcohol testing as per applicable federal regulations.
