Job Description
Fenstermaker has a full-time opportunity for an entry-level Survey Rodman. The Rodman will provide support to the Party Chief in the daily responsibilities of collecting data with designated equipment. The Rodman will be a champion and leader of our company's core values while maintaining internal and external customer engagement and satisfaction.
Some responsibilities include:
- Load and unload survey equipment, tools, and supplies to and from job sites.
- Carry, set up, and position tripods, prisms, rods, stakes, and other field equipment as directed by the Party Chief or Instrument man.
- Hold and operate prism poles, leveling rods, and other survey accessories to obtain accurate measurements.
- Place stakes, flags, and markers for property lines, utilities, and construction layouts.
- Assist with clearing brush, debris, and obstacles from survey lines.
- Perform digging, probing, or other manual tasks required to locate monuments, pipelines, or utilities.
- Maintain and organize field supplies including stakes, nails, flagging, paint, and lath.
- Ensure proper care and handling of equipment; keep tools clean and in good working order.
- Follow safety standards and procedures on job sites, including the use of PPE and awareness of site hazards.
- Support survey crew operations and perform additional duties as assigned by the Party Chief.
Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to communicate effectively with others
- Ability to travel - may require overnight stays to support project needs
- Ability to work in the outside elements of the field
- Valid driver's license
