Responsibilities
  • Complete a Quality Control Inspection of residential homes under renovation and reconstruction.
  • Ensure renovations conform to local, state and federal building code requirements.
  • Re-inspect homes that fail initial inspections.
  • Apply practical knowledge of construction techniques and specifications to Quality Control Inspections.
  • Document specific information pertaining to each residence under construction and load into various web-based portals.
  • Perform minor maintenance service across multiple trades.
  • Complete general assessments at homes and alert the property management team when immediate action is required.
  • Complete minor repairs in vacant and occupied homes.
  • Properly use and care for company-supplied tools and materials.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements (Including Education)
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in the building and construction field.
  • Demonstrated strong proficiency in MS Excel.
  • Knowledge of construction methods and local, state and federal building codes.
  • Experience in Public Housing, Real Estate, Building Inspections, Code Enforcement or equivalent education and experience.
  • Licensed Home Inspector certification.
  • Lead-based paint certification (preferred).
  • Mold certification (preferred).
  • Ability to multi-task with strong organizational skills, attention to detail, quality orientation and estimating skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a process-improvement mindset.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities professionally.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Results-oriented with adaptability to changing environments.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to work regularly, including weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Physical ability to climb, kneel, crawl, push, pull and lift.
  • Ability to lift and/or move in excess of 50 lbs and operate company-supplied tools.
