Job SummaryThe adjunct faculty member will develop and deliver instruction in precision manufacturing and advanced manufacturing topics, including mechanical, electrical, and advanced manufacturing.
Essential Functions- Provide professional instruction based on the approved course syllabus and ensure that course outcomes meet stated objectives. (60%)
- Prepare curriculum, syllabus, and coursework for the class. (20%)
- Evaluate students' progress in attaining goals and objectives. (5%)
- Ensure safety and security requirements are met in training areas. (5%)
- Meet with students, staff members, and supervisors as needed. (5%)
- Other duties as assigned. (5%)
- Skill in developing lesson outlines and materials.
- Knowledge of the vocational area of assignment.
- Skill in presenting subject matter.
- Skill in using computers and job-related software programs.
- Skill in interpersonal relations and dealing with adult learners.
- Oral and written communication.
This role operates in a professional office environment and uses standard office equipment and technology.
Physical DemandsOccasional standing, walking, lifting up to 25 pounds, and use of hands and arms.
Position Type / Expected Hours of WorkPart‑time instructional position.
TravelPossible travel to other campuses for training.
RequiredEducation and Experience
- Extensive knowledge and experience in precision manufacturing and advanced manufacturing.
- Ability to provide and use workplace scenarios to enhance learning.
- Experience in day‑to‑day duties that can be used as examples to boost participant productivity.
- Experience may substitute for a degree on a year‑for‑year basis.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, engineering, or related field.
- Minimum three (3) years of post‑secondary teaching or faculty recruiting experience.
- Teaching experience at the post‑secondary level.
- Strong computer, communication, and interpersonal skills.
