Legal Assistant

The Coweta Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office has an immediate opening for a Legal Assistant in our Troup office located in the Troup County Government Center, 100 Ridley Avenue, Suite 3500, LaGrange, GA. This position is Full-Time
. The hourly wage will be based upon the applicant’s experience and job-relevant skills.

The following duties are normal for this position, and other duties may be required and assigned.

A Legal Assistant provides clerical support and works directly with Assistant District Attorneys (ADAs), Investigators, and Victim Advocates;

Receives legal documents to include subpoenas, warrants, incident reports, motions, and Discovery; and records/incorporates them along with related legal documents, and/or compiles them with related case file information;

Creates and maintains legal files; enters information into the department database; updates the database; annotates court calendars, and prepares extradition paperwork in accordance with training.

Candidates must be at least 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or its recognized equivalent. All candidates are subject to a background check. Applicants selected for hire will be subject to fingerprinting, a criminal history background check, a motor vehicle driver’s history check and pre-employment drug screening; employment is contingent upon the completion and satisfactory results of each investigation.
