Manages the warehouse staff and contract labor in shipping, receiving, and general warehousing activities. Monitors associates' performance within the Warehouse Management System (WMS), ensuring tasks are completed accurately and efficiently, and provides training and support to maintain system proficiency.
Responsibilities- Manage associates responsible for receiving and stocking purchased items, including verification of quantity and basic inspection.
- Monitor employee performance within the WMS, providing training and support to ensure accurate execution.
- Coordinate with shipping, receiving, inventory, and purchasing teams to resolve discrepancies.
- Supervise and direct team members, ensuring adherence to safety, accuracy, and efficiency standards.
- Foster positive working relationships with customers, vendors, and internal personnel.
- Participate in 5S audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Manage WMS to ensure accurate and timely shipping of items to meet customer expectations.
- Monitor Sales Picks and ensure they are completed promptly in WMS.
- Identify and communicate process improvements to increase operational efficiency.
- Prioritize urgent tasks related to customer shipments and ensure prompt resolution.
- Generate reports, charts, and graphs to track performance and inventory trends.
- Supervise inventory accuracy, cycle counts, and annual physical inventory; investigate discrepancies.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Review and calculate payroll time, including time off requests, sick leave, and overtime pre-approval in Dynamics 365 AX.
- Direct team to move materials, supplies, or equipment to designated areas using appropriate material handling equipment.
- Maintain up-to-date work instructions.
- Perform special projects within the Warehouse Department as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field such as Supply Chain or Engineering.
- Proven experience in leading others and directing work.
- Microsoft Dynamics 365 experience preferred or willingness to train.
- Experience with a warehouse management system (WMS) preferred.
- Experience in a Warehouse/Inventory Environment (3‑5 years).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word) and office equipment.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including on‑call nights and weekends.
