Senior Sterile Processing Technician (Full‑time, Day shift) at Providence Mission‑Laguna Beach Hospital
, Laguna Beach, CA. This position works 8‑hour day shifts in a rapidly paced surgical environment.
- Demonstrate technical expertise at the SPD Tech II level, and assume responsibility for complex instrumentation (e.g., orthopedics, neuro, ENT) with the SPD Supervisor and clinical team.
- Promote and improve unit daily operations, develop and maintain technical practice standards.
- Assist in training and orienting new staff members, and educate SPT I and SPT II staff on specialty instrumentation.
- Provide ongoing education regarding designated specialty instrumentation for all SPD staff.
- National Certified Registered Central Service Technician – Healthcare Sterile Processing Association OR
- National Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician – Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution OR
- National Certified Instrument Specialist – Healthcare Sterile Processing Association
- Minimum 2 years sterile processing experience in an acute care setting.
- Minimum 2 years of high‑level disinfection experience (e.g., endoscopy).
- Coursework or training in high‑level disinfection, decontamination, processing, sterilization, quality control, flexible scope reprocessing.
