Nurse Educator - Critical Care Departments at Mission Hospital Regional Medical Center in Mission Viejo, CA. This position is full-time and will work 8‑hour day shifts.

• Provide professional nursing support and advanced clinical, leadership, and staff development knowledge and skills.
• Support the professional and clinical development of bedside nurses and foster empowerment through knowledge to achieve excellence in evidence‑based nursing care.
• Facilitate the educational process through assessment of learning needs and develop, plan, implement, and evaluate educational programs and activities in collaboration with multidisciplinary care teams.
• Lead competency validation at all levels, from orientation through advanced, and ensure regulatory compliance with respect to clinical practice through education and competency validation.
• Participate in strategic planning to achieve outcomes.
• Lead staff development projects and act as a consultant to committees and teams, recommending improvements to the quality of patient care through development and revision of policies, procedures, and programs.
• Support integration of research into practice and serve as a resource and mentor to staff.

• Master’s degree in Nursing or degree in progress to be completed within 2 years.
• Preferred field:
  Nursing Education.
• California Registered Nurse License upon hire.
• National Provider BLS – American Heart Association upon hire.
• 3 years’ clinical experience in area(s) of specialization.

• Certification in clinical specialty, Nursing Professional Development, or Nursing Education upon hire.
• 1 year of staff development experience.
• Experience with simulation in healthcare.
• Experience with interactive, case‑based online teaching/learning methods.
• Experience with both knowledge and skills‑based competency validation.
• Experience with outcomes measurement to evaluate effectiveness of education.
