Job DescriptionAs a Security Officer – Access Control Specialist in Laguna Beach, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Commercial Real Estate, and more. As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal at a commercial real estate location, you will monitor entrances, check badges, and conduct regular patrols to help deter security‑related incidents. Your visible presence and commitment to providing outstanding customer service create a welcoming environment for residents and visitors.

Pay Rate: $21.15 / Hour

Mon 02:30 PM – 10:30 PM
Tue 02:30 PM – 10:30 PM
Fri 02:00 PM – 10:00 PM
Sat 02:00 PM – 10:00 PM
Sun 02:00 PM – 10:00 PM
- Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
- Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
- Receive site‑specific training and guidance from experienced teams
- Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
- Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise
- Monitor and manage access control points within the location to help deter unauthorized entry and/or activity.
- Verify identification and credentials of individuals seeking access to restricted areas within the property.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, following Allied Universal protocols and site‑specific procedures.
- Conduct regular and random patrols around the property and its perimeter to observe for any security‑related concerns or suspicious activity.
- Document and report any security‑related incidents, irregularities, or property damage according to site‑specific and Allied Universal procedures.
- Provide customer service to residents, visitors, and vendors by addressing security‑related inquiries and assisting with site‑specific policies and procedures.
- Assist in emergency response activities as required, collaborating with local authorities and Allied Universal management.
- Maintain a visible security‑related presence to help deter inappropriate activity and promote a secure environment for all occupants.
- Availability across various days and shifts

- A desire to gain broad experience and grow within the company
- Interest in transitioning into full‑time roles when available
- Have at least 1 year of security‑related experience.
- Be able to provide proof of a high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Have experience with access control and/or badge systems preferred.
- Be comfortable working at locations with limited on‑site facilities such as portable toilets or rustic guard shacks preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
