Our growing Retail client is searching for an Accounting Manager to join their team. This role will own the monthly close process and lead the AP/AR functions. The Accounting Manager partners with the Controller and manages a small team. Ideal candidates have experience fully owning the month‑end close process and exposure to inventory accounting.

• Drive and oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including detailed balance sheet reconciliations, trial balance reviews, and in‑depth financial analysis.
• Provide leadership and oversight to General Accounting, Fixed Assets, Payroll, and Inventory Accounting functions, fostering a collaborative, high‑performing team environment.
• Own and enhance inventory accounting and forecasting activities, including analysis of inventory valuation, reserves, and the impact of purchasing and sales on working capital and cash flow.
• Partner cross‑functionally with operations and finance leadership to explain financial results, identify operational inefficiencies, manage key initiatives, and develop complex analyses that support informed business decisions.
• Design, implement, and maintain robust accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with best‑practice financial reporting standards.
• Support external financial reporting requirements, including preparation and review of technical accounting memos and related footnote disclosures.
• Coordinate and support annual audits and quarterly reviews, serving as a primary liaison for internal and external auditors and overseeing internal control testing.
• Contribute to merger and acquisition efforts, including financial due diligence, third‑party valuation coordination, and purchase price accounting.
• Provide technical accounting guidance and conclusions under US GAAP and applicable regulatory standards in response to internal and external inquiries.
• Develop and support management and board‑level presentations, including business reviews, strategic planning materials, and annual operating plans.
• Proactively identify and resolve accounting and reporting issues while maintaining strict confidentiality of sensitive financial information.
• Perform ad hoc financial analysis and support special projects as business needs arise.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field or equivalent directly related work experience.
• Inventory Accounting experience required.
• ERP Experience such as Net Suite, MS Dynamics 365, Sage 300, Acumatica, SAP, Oracle, Workday, MS Business Central, JD Edwards, MS Dynamics GP or Intacct, all deemed good.
