Overview

The Luau Greeter is responsible for creating a memorable first impression to our luau guests. This position facilitates a great experience by promptly greeting and seating guests, while providing an orientation to the luau grounds and the evening’s events.

Responsibilities
  • Greet and check‑in guests while making a memorable first impression.
  • Ensure positive guest services in all areas. Respond to complaints, taking appropriate actions to turn dissatisfied guests into returning guests.
  • Prepare tickets and reserve signs for check‑in.
  • Support Luau Cashiers during guest check‑in by managing guest lists, wristbands, and hand stamps.
  • Be alert and ready to support emergency procedures or special accommodations as needed.
  • Recognize and organize agent receipts.
  • Assist special‑needs guests.
  • Assist parties of 10 or more.
  • Inform guests of grounds, facilities, and amenities.
  • Escort guests to their seats.
  • Work closely with the F&B Luau Manager and all Luau staff.
  • Attend all pre‑shift and post‑shift meetings.
  • Perform all assigned pre‑shift and post‑shift duties.
  • Report any problems or issues to the Luau Manager that require attention as they arise.
  • Ensure a safe working and guest environment to reduce the risk of injury and accidents.
  • Ensure compliance with all local and liquor laws and health and sanitation regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with hotel rules and regulations.
  • Attend and participate in all department and company‑required meetings/training.
  • Ensure good employee morale and a productive work environment.
  • Provide excellent guest experience for overall guest satisfaction.
  • Perform other duties as directed by supervisor/management.
Qualifications
  • Previous guest experience required.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk frequently for extended periods of time.
  • Frequent repetitive hand, wrist, and body motions.
  • Occasional light to medium work – lifting up to 20 to 50 pounds of equipment occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
  • Ability to work in hot/cold temperatures.

Job Requirements
  • Previous host experience, preferably with large‑scale events.
  • Good communication skills for dealing with diverse staff.
  • English language reading, writing, and speaking proficiency.
  • Neat and professional appearance, genuine spirit of Aloha, and desire to work with the public.
  • Ability to stand/walk for extended periods and engage in considerable physical activity on a consistent basis.
  • Ability to work in conjunction with the Luau Stage Manager, F&B Luau Managers, and Luau staff.
  • Respectful interaction with co‑workers, managers/supervisors, guests, and others.
  • Effective teamwork with co‑workers and managers/supervisors.
  • Attendance at all scheduled training and hotel‑required meetings.
  • Positive attitude.
